Ingredients
  

Healthier Brownie Base

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce as butter substitute
  • 1/2 cup natural sweetener like maple syrup or honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine applesauce, sweetener, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  • Add cocoa powder, almond flour, and salt. Mix until fully blended. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  • Pour batter into the prepared dish. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until set in the center.
  • Let cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

These brownies offer a lower-sugar, gluten-free-friendly alternative to cake and can be further enhanced with chia seeds or nuts for added nutrition.
