Chicken and Cabbage Stir-Fry

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken breast sliced into thin strips
  • 1 medium cabbage shredded (green or red)
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for cooking
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 1 tsp chili flakes or paprika optional for spice
  • to taste salt and black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Slice the chicken into thin strips and season with salt, black pepper, and paprika or chili flakes (if using).
  • Shred the cabbage into thin strips and slice the onion.
  • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Add the chicken strips and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic, sautéing for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the shredded cabbage and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and pour in the soy sauce. Stir everything together and cook for another 2 minutes to blend flavors.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot. Enjoy as a standalone meal or with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of sesame oil before serving. You can also mix in bell peppers or carrots for added crunch.
