boneless, skinless chicken breast
thinly sliced

hoagie rolls
toasted

slices
provolone cheese
or American cheese
1
onion
thinly sliced
1
green bell pepper
thinly sliced

tbsp
olive oil
for sautéing
salt and pepper
to taste
Instructions
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add olive oil.
Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing until soft and caramelized, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the thinly sliced chicken to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook the chicken, stirring frequently, until fully cooked and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
Return the sautéed onions and peppers to the pan with the chicken. Mix well.
Place cheese slices on top of the chicken mixture and let them melt. Cover the pan for 1-2 minutes if needed.
Toast the hoagie rolls lightly, then fill them with the cheesy chicken mixture.
Serve immediately with your favorite side, such as fries or a fresh salad.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken with garlic and a splash of Worcestershire sauce before cooking.
